Understanding the treatment

Restoring the motion pain takes away

A chiropractic adjustment uses precise, hands-on pressure to restore motion to a joint that's lost it — what we call a fixation. When a vertebra stops moving properly, whether from a collision, posture, or everyday wear, the surrounding muscles and nerves compensate, which is often the real source of pain in whiplash, neck pain, back pain, and sciatica. An adjustment doesn't just aim to relieve the ache — it works to restore the mechanics so your body can stop working around the injury.

How it works

From evaluation to feeling like yourself again

Full evaluation

We identify exactly which segments have lost motion and rule out anything needing imaging or referral first — whether that followed a collision or built up on its own.

Is it right for you?

Right for most mechanical injuries — not every one

Adjustments are appropriate for most mechanical injuries, whether from a collision or everyday wear — the majority of what we see. They're not the right first step for a fracture, dislocation, or Grade IV whiplash, which need emergency imaging before any hands-on care. For a severely herniated disc with significant nerve compression, spinal decompression may be the better starting point, sometimes combined with adjustment once acute pressure is relieved. Florida PIP rules can involve time-sensitive initial-care requirements (Fla. Stat. § 627.736); coverage and eligibility depend on the policy and circumstances. An evaluation does not guarantee PIP benefits.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about chiropractic adjustments

Most patients feel pressure or a release, not pain — some soreness afterward is common, similar to starting a new stretch or exercise. We adjust our approach if anything feels off during your visit.
